The Cow Jumped Over the Moon

Most people don't know this, but back in April I started working from home (freelancing) full time. I don't just move freight for a local agent (commission only), I also sell things online (eBay, Craigslist, Etsy) and I've been attempting to freelance as a graphic designer on Elance. Basically...I'm doing just about anything I can to make a buck. Slowly, but surely it's been panning out.

One thing you have to be weary of when you work from home is actually eating, drinking, and taking a break once in a while. Most of the frieght I move requires me to check on drivers at some odd hours, so I might have to actually work at midnight to make sure a load is moving and on time.

In between loads, I photograph products and list them online. Sometimes I even go hunting on the weekends to find products to list. I really enjoy it and love shooting interesting things.

Writing copy for an eBay listing is sometimes rather boring, so I've gotten "creative", since no one really reads the darn things anyway (as a matter of fact, eBay now requires the viewer to click a link in the page to reveal the details on their mobile site).

As a sample of my newly found creative writing skills, I offer you, The Cow That Jumped Over the Moon...

Help protect your precious child from the things that go bump in the night, the monsters in the closet, and the unspeakable frights that lurk in the dark with this beautiful, yet brave little guardian cow. Just a simple flick of a switch and your child can feel the comforting glow that only this lamp can provide. After all, this is no ordinary cow...THIS is the COW THAT JUMPED OVER THE MOON! Long before Neil Armstrong was even a sparkle in anyone's eye, this cow dreamed big, and jumped high...really, really high! This cow is a legend...a pioneer in space travel and possibly even an inspiration to Mr. Armstrong himself. Don't you want your child to dream big too? Don't delay, give your special little one the warm glow, the great inspiration and peaceful rest that only this lamp can provide. Bid now!
You are bidding on a 1961 vintage "Cow Jumped Over the Moon" nursery rhyme lamp made by Lane of Van Nuys, Los Angeles, California.  Yes, this lamp works and is in great condition...no chips, scrapes or breaks. The ceramic is original an intact.  The lampshade is original too, but has a few dings, dents and creases as well as a yellowing. Although shade is yellowed, it DOES NOT SMELL.  The lampshade could easily be replaced with something new in white, pink or a pale blue (along with brown, these are the colors found in the base of the lamp).
Thank you for looking and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

This is quite a new and pleasant adventure in my life. It's very nice to work at home and work hard for  yourself. I probably put in a lot more hours than I would at a day job, but that's okay. I truly love what I'm doing.

Photographs of the Day (Clock Parts)

Yesterday I scored a bunch of clock parts and have not yet decided what to do with them. I cleaned up a few bits and threw them into a heap on a peice of black velveteen I had and sat them in the sun. I felt compelled to photograph them and these are just a few of the photographs I took. Instead of detroying them by making them into things, I think I might just shoot them instead. I'm hoping to break out the macro on them next.
